Libra Carr, one of today's beauty industry leaders is an expert hairstylist and professional makeup artist for a host of celebrities such as Melissa Etheridge, Usher, the Goo-Goo Dolls, Heather Headley and Outkast to name a few. Her work has been seen in magazines like Good Housekeeping, Essence, Jezebel, and Forbes. And shown worldwide on networks such as CNN, Fox News Network, TBS and the Disney Channel.
When asked why she wanted to be in this particular profession, Libra said, "I wanted a career that would give me the opportunity to touch people (no pun intended) with good old fashioned positive energy and a sense of confidence and purpose." She achieves her goal by creating impeccable looks perfectly fitted for every occassion or production; building confidence with insightful down-to-earth instruction.
She feels that to educate is a virtue worth living by and has since started a makeup products and services company called Illume Inc., which incidentally means to enlighten, inform and instruct.. Libra feels that makeup is much like life, "Lot's of color with a little bit of drama and a daily opportunity to feel good from it."
